School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Kenner, Louisiana
This full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role offers an opportunity to support K-12 students within a dynamic school environment in Kenner, LA. The position is a contract assignment spanning the current school year, with a focus primarily on elementary schools. Working onsite during regular school hours, this role supports student communication development and collaborates closely with educators and families to provide comprehensive speech therapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students identified with communication disorders across K-12 grade levels.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and district guidelines.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to foster effective communication strategies and support educational goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and compliance reports.
- Participate in student evaluations, screenings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders is required.
- Current active state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Louisiana.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is highly preferred.
- Experience working in school settings with elementary-aged students is a plus.
- Ability to complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting for credentialing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage a diverse student population.
Position Details:
- Location: Kenner, Louisiana
- Duration: Contract through end of the current school year (approximately until May 22, 2026)
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, following the school calendar.
- Onsite work only.
