Pediatric School-Based SLP | Gretna, Louisiana
A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to support students from PreK through 8th grade in New Orleans, LA. This contract role spans the current school year, with a schedule of 32.5 hours per week, starting ASAP through May 20, 2026. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in pediatric speech therapy, school-based services, and teletherapy, providing comprehensive support to a caseload of approximately 48-50 students.
Key responsibilities include conducting assessments in collaboration with an appraisal team, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), delivering direct therapy services, and managing case documentation. This role requires a valid Louisiana SLP license and familiarity with school settings to ensure effective care and intervention for children with speech and language needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Louisiana Speech Language Pathologist license
- Experience working with pediatric populations in school or healthcare environments
- Skilled in teletherapy and in-person speech therapy services
- Knowledge of IEP development and case management
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfort managing a caseload of 48-50 students
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for student assessments
