Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – PreK–8th Grade
Location: New Orleans, LA
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time, school-based contract position in the New Orleans, LA area. This role serves students in PreK through 8th grade, providing comprehensive speech and language support to promote communication, academic success, and social development.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet all requirements established by local and state education agencies, including:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Active Louisiana Speech-Language Pathology License issued by the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (LBESPA)
-
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows may be considered
-
Experience working with school-aged children and special education populations strongly preferred
-
Knowledge of IEP processes, IDEA compliance, and evidence-based therapy methods
Typical Responsibilities:
-
Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders for students in grades PreK–8
-
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
-
Provide direct therapy services targeting articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, and social/pragmatic communication
-
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support generalization of communication skills
-
Maintain detailed and compliant documentation of sessions, progress, and reports
-
Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences to ensure alignment of services
-
Provide consultation and training to staff on speech-language strategies and interventions
