Speech-Language Pathologist Job Duties

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
-
Provide therapy services in individual and group settings
-
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student communication goals

Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary

Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
Federal and State Requirements
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
-
Louisiana state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFs encouraged to apply

Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, assessment, and collaboration skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Louisiana school districts
