Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing qualified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time school-based contract position in New Britain, CT. This role will serve an elementary school caseload and is open to Clinical Fellows (CFs) seeking valuable mentorship and school-based experience.
Position Overview
The SLP will provide evaluations, therapy, and consultative support to elementary students with speech, language, and communication needs. The role emphasizes fostering communication skills to help students succeed academically and socially while collaborating closely with educators, parents, and special education staff.
Requirements

Must meet all Connecticut state and local licensure requirements for Speech Language Pathologists

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Active Connecticut SLP license or eligibility to obtain

CFs encouraged to apply (supervision provided)

Experience with special education students and families highly preferred

Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Typical Job Duties

Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for elementary students

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in line with student needs and goals

Deliver direct therapy services individually and in small groups

Address articulation, fluency, expressive/receptive language, and social communication challenges

Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate communication strategies into classroom instruction

Track student progress, maintain documentation, and provide updates during IEP meetings
-
Partner with families to support communication skill development at home
