Remote Speech-Language Pathologist - New Albany OH Schools

The Opportunity
This position involves serving 40-50 students across various grade levels, typically elementary through middle school ranges. You'll work approximately 35-37.5 hours each week addressing the full spectrum of communication disorders including articulation and phonology, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, fluency, and voice.
Virtual service delivery opens creative possibilities for intervention! You'll utilize digital materials, interactive activities, screen-sharing for visual supports, and innovative online tools to engage students and target their communication goals. Many SLPs find the virtual format actually enhances certain aspects of therapy, particularly for students who respond well to technology-based learning.
Day-to-Day Expectations
Your schedule includes direct therapy sessions delivered via secure video platform, evaluation activities including standardized testing and informal assessment, IEP meeting participation, progress report writing, and ongoing communication with teachers and families.
You'll screen students for potential communication concerns, complete comprehensive evaluations when appropriate, and write detailed reports with recommendations. For students on your caseload, you'll provide individual or small group therapy targeting their specific IEP goals, collect data on their progress, and adjust your therapeutic approach based on response to intervention.
Collaboration is central to this role: you'll consult with classroom teachers about language supports and modifications, provide strategies to parents for home practice, coordinate with other specialists like occupational therapists or school psychologists, and contribute your clinical expertise to multidisciplinary teams.
What You Bring
Valid Ohio SLP license and ASHA CCC-SLP certification are non-negotiable requirements. Your master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and minimum two years of school experience provide the foundation. Beyond credentials, successful virtual SLPs demonstrate strong time management, self-direction, technological aptitude, and excellent communication skills for building rapport through a screen.
Technical Setup
You must have access to reliable, high-speed internet service, a computer with functioning camera and microphone, and a quiet, private workspace appropriate for conducting therapy sessions and participating in confidential meetings.
