Position Overview

As the Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be an integral part of the school’s special education and student support services team. You will work with a caseload of approximately 56 students across various levels of need, providing a combination of direct therapy, assessment, IEP planning, and consultative support.

You will be responsible for ensuring services are aligned with state standards and IEP mandates, while also building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff to foster progress and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations, including re-evaluations, in accordance with district timelines

• Develop legally compliant, data-informed IEP goals tailored to student strengths and needs

• Provide evidence-based therapy services to students individually and in small groups

• Document services, student progress, and session notes accurately and in a timely manner

• Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and school-wide professional development

• Collaborate regularly with teachers, instructional aides, counselors, and other support personnel to implement communication strategies in the classroom

• Educate and empower parents to reinforce communication goals at home

• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations and documentation standards

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

• Valid and active Tennessee state license in Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility to obtain before the start of the school year)

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is preferred

• Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates will be considered and provided with supervision

• Knowledge of IDEA regulations and IEP development

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

• Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
