Pediatric School Speech Pathology | Naperville, Illinois
This full-time speech-language pathologist position offers the opportunity to work onsite in a supportive school and residential program designed for children with adverse and aggressive behaviors. Located in Naperville, IL, this role serves pediatric populations and requires a professional comfortable managing challenges such as self-harm, property destruction, elopement, and aggression.
The work schedule is structured from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing predictability and balance throughout the school year. The position is full-time with direct hire status, and candidates holding an SLP-CF credential will be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language assessments for school-aged children
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to the needs of students
- Collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Managing behaviors safely and effectively within a residential setting
- Monitoring and documenting student growth in communication skills
Qualifications or desired experience:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; SLP-CF candidates will be considered
- Pediatric and school-based therapy experience highly valued
- Comfort and skill in working with children exhibiting aggressive or adverse behaviors
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and promote a safe learning environment
