A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist position is available in the Joliet, IL area within a K-12 educational setting. This contract role is scheduled for the remainder of the school year (CSY) and involves providing essential speech and language services as part of a therapeutic center focused on special education.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations for students to identify speech and language needs.
- Manage a small early childhood (EC) caseload of approximately 9-10 students during afternoon sessions, providing direct speech-language therapy twice a week.
- Allocate remaining time for report writing and participation in meetings related to student progress and intervention planning.
- Deliver in-person services exclusively, as virtual service delivery is not permitted in this therapeutic center setting.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence).
- Experience working in educational or therapeutic settings, preferably within K-12 schools.
- Skills in diagnostic assessment methods and direct therapy for early childhood populations.
- Ability to manage caseloads efficiently and collaborate with educational teams.
- Commitment to providing in-person therapeutic support aligned with special education goals.
Location:
- Position based in Joliet, Illinois within the A.E.R.O. Special Education Cooperative's Therapeutic Center in Burbank, IL.
This role offers the opportunity to serve students during a critical period while supporting their developmental communication skills through specialized assessments and targeted interventions.
