A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in the Chicago, IL area within a therapeutic educational setting. This is a contract position covering an FMLA leave for the remainder of the school year. The role focuses on diagnostic evaluations and a small early childhood (EC) caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic speech and language evaluations for students
- Provide direct speech therapy services to a small group of 9-10 EC students twice per week in the afternoons
- Complete detailed reports based on diagnostic assessments and therapy sessions
- Participate in meetings related to student progress and planning
- Deliver all services onsite; virtual service delivery is not permitted
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Certification with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
- Experience working as an SLP in school settings preferred
- Strong skills in diagnostic evaluation and early childhood therapy caseload management
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to balance therapy, diagnostics, and reporting
- Familiarity with therapeutic and special education programs in schools

- Practice based at a therapeutic center located in Burbank, IL, serving the Chicago metropolitan area
