School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Joliet, Illinois
A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide maternity leave coverage within a K-12 school setting in Joliet, IL, as part of a Special Education Cooperative serving multiple districts. This role supports self-contained classrooms within the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program designed for students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language pathology services to 3-4 classrooms, each consisting of 6-8 students with special needs.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Possession of an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech Endorsement.
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License required.
- Candidates holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
- Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) will be considered.
- Experience working with school-aged children, especially within special education or autism spectrum environments, is highly beneficial.
Position Details:
- Location: Various schools across surrounding areas including Clarendon Hills, Willowbrook, Downers Grove, and Westmont, IL.
- Duration: Approximately January 26, 2026, through June 5, 2026, with some start dates in late January or February depending on assignment.
- Hours: Full-time position, averaging 35 to 37.5 hours per week.
- On-site position; virtual work is not available.
