Speech and Language Pathologist in Joliet, IL
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized support across multiple schools within a K-12 public education cooperative serving students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. This contract assignment offers full-time hours from the start date through approximately May 28, 2025, with placements at several locations in the Joliet, IL area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services to 3-4 self-contained classrooms within Structured Learning Environment (SLE) programs, each consisting of 6-8 students
- Collaborate with educational teams to assess communication needs and implement individualized therapy plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports aligned with school and state guidelines
- Participate in meetings and trainings as required to support student development
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Experience and qualification at any level: fully certified SLP, Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) SLP, or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Background in working with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
