School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Morris, Illinois
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, serving students from elementary through junior high grades within a K-12 setting. This contract position will begin as soon as possible and continue through May 2026 in Morris, Illinois.
This role includes managing a caseload of approximately 35 students across three schools—one located in Morris (20 students) and two in nearby locations (8 and 7 students respectively). Many students served are on the autism spectrum, requiring specialized speech and language support tailored to their unique needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language evaluations and providing evidence-based therapy interventions
- Collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Developing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and documenting student outcomes
- Managing caseloads effectively across multiple school sites
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines relating to special education services
Qualifications or desired experience:
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Prior experience working as an SLP in a school setting
- Familiarity with working with children on the autism spectrum
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work full-time between 32.5 and 37.5 hours per week
