Remote AAC Specialist NC School SLP Contractor
We are seeking a Remote AAC Specialist to join our network of SLPs serving students across North Carolina. This 1099 position is perfect for clinicians with a passion for augmentative and alternative communication. You’ll conduct virtual assessments, recommend AAC systems, and provide ongoing support to students, families, and staff. Your expertise will drive the effective implementation of communication tools across a wide range of abilities. A strong foundation in device programming and training is essential.
Key Duties:

Perform virtual AAC evaluations and make recommendations.

Program and manage AAC devices remotely when possible.

Provide training to staff and families on AAC usage.

Customize symbols, vocabularies, and settings to individual needs.

Collaborate with AT teams and district tech specialists.

Track student progress with AAC usage.

Attend virtual IEP meetings to contribute to communication planning.

Ensure documentation reflects AAC-related services and supports.

Assist in selecting funding sources or vendors when requested.

Offer consultations to general SLPs regarding AAC integration.

Develop core vocabulary instruction plans.

Monitor compliance with device use policies.

Train paraprofessionals to support AAC use in class.

Create modeling materials for parents and educators.

Stay updated on emerging AAC tools and applications.

VOCOVISION Requirements
· Must have a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
· Contractors must provide your their own liability insurance
· Comfortable being an independent contractor (1099)
· Home computer with high internet speed
· Passed basic tech screening
Interview Process:
- 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Therapy Recruiter
- 20-30 minute Virtual Interview with the School District
- Offer is typically within 24-48 hours of the virtual interview
