School Speech Language Pathologist - Newark, Delaware
A contract position is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) for the 2026-2027 school year, located in Wilmington, Delaware. This is an onsite opportunity with a public school district serving a diverse student population across multiple school levels. Candidates must hold an SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) and a valid Delaware SLP license. Clinical Fellows may apply, but virtual or SLPA applicants will not be considered.
Location: Wilmington, DE
Contract Duration: August 26, 2026 (with potential earlier start for professional development) through June 10, 2027
Workweek: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute paid lunch break
Daily Hours by School Level:
- Early Childhood: 8:25 AM – 3:55 PM
- Elementary: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Middle School: 7:40 AM – 3:10 PM
- High School: 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM (light caseload with district evaluation support)
Caseload Assignments Include:
- Darley Road Preschool: Itinerant AM / Building PM
- Bush Early Education Center: Preschool Building
- Harlan Elementary: General Education
- Springer Middle School: General Education
- Mt. Pleasant High School: General Education and Special Programs with evaluation responsibilities; caseload expected to increase over the year
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Delaware SLP license (submission required)
- SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Ability to work onsite full-time
- Strong evaluation skills, especially for high school assignments
- Experience working with early intervention and school-aged populations
- Commitment to providing quality speech-language services across varied caseload types
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to diverse student populations within assigned schools
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and write reports as needed
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations
