A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate is sought to support students at an elementary school in Mesquite, NM, within a small and highly supportive school district. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to a caseload of approximately 60 students, including those in structured communication classrooms.
- Focus on current therapy needs and adapt to the evolving caseload without the immediate concern of compensatory services.
- Collaborate with bilingual colleagues and school staff to enhance therapy effectiveness.
- Engage with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools as needed; experience is a plus but willingness to learn is essential.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to district requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico state licensure is required prior to start.
- New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) certification is required; candidates may begin work while certification is pending if licensure is active.
- SLP certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) highly preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are particularly encouraged, although monolingual SLPs are also welcome.
- Previous school-based experience is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students.
