Position Overview
Meridian Public School District is hiring a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to serve students in grades PreK–8 for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a direct-hire position within the district's Special Education department. The SLP will support students with a variety of communication needs including articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, fluency disorders, and pragmatic language concerns. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, and passionate about helping children communicate effectively.
Primary Duties

Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations as required by IDEA

Provide direct speech-language therapy to students in individual and small group settings

Develop and implement measurable IEP goals aligned with student needs and district standards
-
Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and school psychologists
-
Maintain clear and timely documentation of service delivery and student progress

Participate in IEP meetings, MDTs, and RTI teams as a speech/language expert

Supervise SLPAs or graduate students, if assigned
-
Contribute to professional development and ongoing training as needed
Caseload & Support

Estimated caseload: 30–35 students

Age range: PreK–8th grade

Support available from district SLP team and access to digital therapy tools

Opportunities to co-treat or co-plan with OTs and SPED teachers
Qualifications
-
Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent
-
Mississippi educator license with 215 endorsement
-
CCC-SLP preferred; CFs with strong references welcome

Experience in a school setting is strongly preferred but not required

Excellent communication and time-management skills
