Speech Therapist in Jackson, OH
Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting PreK students as a Speech-Language Pathologist with a focus on both in-school and home-based services. This position extends from August through the end of the 2026-2027 school year, offering an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on the communication development of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive speech and language services to PreK students, encompassing assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring
- Participate in home visits and conduct child find evaluations to facilitate early identification and support
- Spend four days each week working directly within the school environment
- Dedicate Mondays to collaborative work with the Instructional Support (IS) team, coordinating individualized education plans and interventions
- Create and implement engaging therapy plans that address a range of speech-language needs
- Document services, maintain accurate records, and provide timely reporting
- Communicate regularly with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support student growth
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates encouraged to apply
- Previous experience in school settings or with early childhood/PreK populations preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Adaptability for traveling to student homes and conducting child find visits as needed
