A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support students in a middle school setting, serving grades 6-12 during the Extended School Year (ESY). This contract position offers the opportunity to work 2 days per week starting ASAP through the end of ESY. Located in Pocatello, ID, this role supports the communication needs of students with diverse speech and language challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students in grades 6-12
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs
- Collaborate with educational staff to support student progress and inclusion
- Utilize Vocal Expression Communication Opportunities (VOCO) as appropriate
- Monitor and document student progress following established protocols
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist certification required
- Experience working with middle and high school aged students preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload independently, including assessment and therapy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Open to using VOCO techniques to support student communication
