A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist position is available within a school setting in Madison, AL. This contract role begins ASAP or at the start of the January semester and runs through May 22, 2026. The position involves working 37.5 hours per week, with a Monday-Thursday schedule focused on direct therapy, and Fridays dedicated to assessments.
Key responsibilities include providing speech-language services to students in a preK-8th grade school. The caseload is currently 58 students, including 9 in primary levels, and is shared collaboratively with one other SLP without lead involvement. Therapists coordinate how the caseload is divided to best meet student needs. Therapy sessions start at 7:45 am CST, and para support is provided to assist with student transitions to therapy.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Valid Alabama state licensure with active SLP certification (CCC)
- Experience working in school-based settings, including virtual service delivery
- Knowledge of Alabama state laws related to school-based therapy is advantageous
- Familiarity with case management and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ideally through PowerSchool software
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to manage caseload distribution effectively
