We are seeking two skilled Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to support a PreK-8 school in the Decatur, AL area. Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active Alabama SLP license required
- Experience in school-based speech therapy and virtual service delivery
- Familiarity with Alabama laws related to speech therapy is preferred
- Strong understanding of case management and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), preferably using PowerSchool or similar platforms
- Ability to manage and collaborate on a caseload shared with another SLP
- Experience working with para-professional support staff to facilitate student therapy attendance
Location:
- Elementary school in Decatur, AL, serving PreK through 8th grade students
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to an active caseload averaging 58 students, with a focus on early elementary levels as well
- Collaborate directly with a co-therapist to determine caseload division and scheduling
- Conduct therapy sessions Monday through Thursday; Fridays are reserved for student assessments and administrative work
- Utilize para support staff to assist with student transitions to the therapy room
- Adhere to Alabama speech therapy laws and school policies to ensure compliance and quality service delivery
