School-Based SLP | Machesney Park, Illinois
An exciting opportunity awaits for a Speech Language Pathologist to support elementary students for the upcoming school year in a collaborative school setting near Machesney Park, IL. This contract position offers a stable, full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week) as a W-2 employee under an annual contract, with the flexibility to create your own hours within the school day. Immediate interviews are taking place, and orientation is scheduled prior to the start date to ensure a smooth transition.
Work with a manageable caseload of up to 35-40 students at a single elementary site, providing essential speech and language services. You'll collaborate with both general and special education teams, offering services to students including those with ASD. This position welcomes both certified SLPs (CCC) and new graduates (CFY), as experienced supervision is provided.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Active Illinois SLP license or eligibility
- SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY candidates welcome (supervision for CFYs provided)
- Previous experience in schools is preferred, but not required
- Comfortable working with elementary students, including those in special education and ASD classrooms
- Organizational skills and the ability to adapt to flexible scheduling
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech/language disorders
- Develop goals and intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families for integrated support
- Maintain compliance and documentation in line with school and state policies
