A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available at an elementary school-based preschool program located in Lowell, MA. This contract role offers opportunities to work with children who have moderate to severe disabilities, including AAC users, within a supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to preschool students with complex learning needs and AAC requirements.
- Manage a caseload that will begin lighter and increase throughout the school year, potentially reaching approximately 30 students.
- Collaborate with educational staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with school and state guidelines.
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet the diverse needs of children in the preschool setting.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) certification required.
- Experience working with AAC and children with complex learning needs is essential.
- Open to SLPs in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Ability to work approximately 6 hours per day, 4 days per week (with potential for up to 5 days).
- Commitment to supporting a dynamic caseload with evolving student needs.
Location: Lowell, MA (Preschool program housed in a single building within the district)
Contract Details:
- School year contract with an end date of 12/23/25; extension possible through 6/16/26 if not hired directly.
- Position may start lighter and build in intensity as more students are added throughout the year.
