VocoVision provides comprehensive recruitment services connecting speech language pathologists with virtual therapy opportunities nationwide. Our focus on school-based teletherapy placements helps districts access qualified professionals while offering SLPs flexible work arrangements that support work-life balance.
Speech language pathologists interested in remote work opportunities in Kentucky are encouraged to connect with us. These positions involve delivering specialized communication services to students with speech and language disorders through comprehensive teletherapy platforms, allowing you to practice from home while making significant impacts on student communication development.
Role Overview
This remote therapy position typically encompasses 35-37.5 hours weekly, serving a student caseload of approximately 50-55 learners across elementary and middle grade levels. The virtual structure provides scheduling flexibility while requiring consistent availability during school hours for therapy sessions, evaluation appointments, IEP meetings, and documentation time.
Your students will present with varied communication disorders requiring evidence-based intervention. The caseload commonly includes students with articulation and phonological impairments, receptive and expressive language disorders, fluency disorders including stuttering, voice and resonance disorders, and pragmatic language deficits. You'll design and deliver therapy addressing each student's individualized communication goals while building on their existing strengths.
Essential Duties
Developing effective treatment plans and implementing engaging virtual therapy represents your core responsibility. You'll create session plans incorporating evidence-based techniques, select appropriate digital therapy materials that target specific goals, and deliver interactive teletherapy sessions through synchronous video conferencing. Therapy formats will include individual sessions for intensive work and small group sessions for peer interaction and generalization.
Progress monitoring requires systematic data collection throughout each session. You'll document student responses to therapeutic techniques, calculate accuracy percentages for targeted skills, track progress using visual graphs and charts, and prepare detailed progress reports demonstrating growth toward IEP goals. This documentation supports IEP updates and provides evidence of therapeutic effectiveness.
Evaluation responsibilities are ongoing throughout the school year. You'll conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments using standardized and informal measures, complete screening evaluations for students with potential concerns, participate in determining eligibility for services, and write thorough evaluation reports within mandated timelines. Assessment results guide treatment planning and service recommendations.
Collaboration spans multiple stakeholders in virtual environments. You'll present evaluation findings and progress updates during remote IEP meetings, provide consultation to classroom teachers about supporting communication skills, train families on home practice strategies, and coordinate with other specialists when students have multiple service providers. Strong communication skills help bridge the physical distance and maintain effective teamwork.
Required Credentials
Kentucky speech language pathologist licensure must be current and valid. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is mandatory. A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Candidates must demonstrate two or more years of experience providing speech therapy in school settings working with pediatric populations.
Teletherapy requires technological proficiency and appropriate home infrastructure. You need dependable high-speed internet, functioning computer equipment with quality camera and microphone, and a quiet workspace suitable for confidential therapy sessions and professional video conferences. Familiarity with teletherapy platforms, digital therapy materials, and online documentation systems is beneficial.
