A high school in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized support for students with speech and language challenges. This contract position offers an opportunity to work 25 hours per week during the current school year, starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in delivering assessments and therapy services tailored to the needs of adolescents in a high school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of high school students requiring speech and language support
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and develop individualized therapy plans
- Implement effective intervention strategies to address communication disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other educational professionals to support students’ academic and social success
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to developing communication goals within the educational program
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Experience working with high school-aged students, preferably within a school setting
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and evidence-based therapy approaches
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize time effectively within a flexible schedule
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
