Pediatric School-Based SLP | Long Beach, California
A reputable educational contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) skilled in pediatric and school-based services. This role primarily supports high school students with mild to severe disabilities, providing comprehensive care in line with typical SLP responsibilities.
Location:
Fullerton, CA, with occasional service provision at a Nonpublic School in Buena Park, CA.
Duration:
August through December, with potential extension pending reevaluation at the end of December. Part-time Extended School Year (ESY) work is also considered. Full-time commitment is guaranteed through December.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech and language therapy to high school students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student communication needs.
- Provide services at both the primary location and monthly at a Nonpublic School in Buena Park.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist License (ASL certification required).
- Credentialed or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience working in pediatric healthcare and school settings preferred.
- Familiarity with managing caseloads involving mild to moderate and moderate to severe disabilities.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred for SLP candidates.
- SLPA candidates must have school-based experience.
