School Speech Therapist | Aurora, Colorado
Position Overview: A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available working with Pre-K through 8th-grade students with mild to moderate needs in a smaller northern Denver metro district. This role offers the chance to support around 40 students on your caseload, including approximately 10 preschoolers, by providing evaluations, service notes, and direct therapy minutes. The district welcomes both new graduates, including Clinical Fellows (CF), and experienced professionals. If you are a CF, supervision is provided. Please note, the district does not employ SLP Assistants (SLPAs), contract nurses, or offer hybrid/VOCO positions.
Location: Explore Academy, 10310 York St., Thornton, CO 80229 (Northern Denver suburbs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations to assess student needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely service notes.
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to mild to moderate need students.
- Collaborate with educators and support teams to facilitate student progress.
- For Clinical Fellows, participate in district-provided supervision.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Speech-Language Pathologist credential required or in progress.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience or interest in working with Pre-K through 8th-grade students.
- Ability to complete a two-step interview process: initial screening via Teams and a panel interview (in-person or virtual).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to provide updates on credential and relocation status if applicable.
Additional Details:
- Full-time contract position (37.5 hours per week).
- Caseload of approximately 40 students.
- Interview scheduling mainly available Mondays and Fridays.
- Candidates are asked to submit their CDE credential information or indicate progress toward certification.
