Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Denver, CO
This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position within a smaller public school district in the northern suburbs of Denver, CO. The district serves approximately 7,000 students across 16 sites and welcomes both new graduates and experienced professionals. The role is a full-time, contract position based at a center-based classroom serving K-8 students with mild to severe speech and language needs.
Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, maintaining service notes, providing direct speech services, and case managing students who receive speech only on their IEP. Speech minutes are scheduled monthly. Supervision is available for candidates who hold a Clinical Fellowship (CF) license, however, the district does not accept Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs). Candidates must have or be in the process of obtaining Colorado Department of Education (CDE) credentials; updates on this process are required with application.
The hiring process involves a two-step interview: an initial 15-30 minute screening via Teams with the Director of Integrated Services, followed by a 30-45 minute panel interview ideally conducted in person, although virtual options are flexible. Interviews are primarily scheduled for Mondays or Fridays.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- SLP certification and credentials for school settings
- Eligibility or current status for CDE licensure
- Experience or willingness to work with varied student needs ranging from mild to severe
- Ability to complete evaluations, direct services, and case management duties
- Flexibility and communication about CDE and relocation status for travel candidates
Location: Thornton, CO (within the Denver metropolitan area)
