School Speech and Language Pathologist | Joliet, Illinois
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available within a K-12 Special Education Cooperative in the Joliet, IL area. This contract role spans the current school year with a potential assignment across several locations including Willowbrook High School (Villa Park), Addison Trail High School (Addison), Maercker Intermediate School (Westmont), and PrairieView Elementary School (Downers Grove). The SLP will serve 3-4 self-contained classrooms within the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program, supporting students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized speech-language therapy services to students aged K-12 within the SLE program
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement communication goals
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support a caseload of approximately 6-8 students per classroom, across 3-4 classrooms
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Experience working with students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities preferred
- Willingness to work on-site at multiple school locations within the assigned cooperative
- Recent graduates holding SLP Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are encouraged to apply
Hours & Duration:
- Full-time schedule, approximately 35 to 37.5 hours per week
- Contract duration through approximately May 28th, 2025, based on school assignments
