A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to provide specialized services within K-12 educational settings. This contract role supports students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities across multiple schools in the Lisle, IL area. The assignment is expected to begin as soon as possible and continue through the end of the current school year, approximately May 28th, 2025.

Responsibilities will include serving 3 to 4 self-contained classrooms within the Structured Learning Environment (SLE) program. Each classroom typically includes 6 to 8 students with unique communication needs. The SLP will collaborate with educators and support staff to deliver individualized speech and language therapy designed to promote student progress and success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
  • Current Illinois Speech License
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred but not required; candidates in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities in school-based settings
  • Ability to manage multiple classrooms and collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams

Location Details:

  • Assignments spread across several schools near Lisle, IL, including Willowbrook High School (Villa Park), Addison Trail High School (Addison), Maercker Intermediate School (Westmont), and PrairieView Elementary School (Downers Grove)

This opportunity offers hands-on experience with a diverse caseload in a cooperative special education setting spanning 18 districts. The position is on-site with no virtual work option.
