A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to cover two maternity leaves within an elementary school setting in Plano, TX. This contract role offers the opportunity to support students from PreK through 5th grade across multiple campuses, providing essential speech and language services to young learners in a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy to approximately 101 students spread across three elementary schools during two maternity leaves
  • Manage caseloads at Independence Elementary (PreK-3rd grade, 53 students), Old Settlers Elementary (K-5th grade, 40 students), and Southridge Elementary (K-5th grade, 8 students)
  • Coordinate therapy sessions, including two half days at an additional campus, ensuring compliance with district policies
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to support student progress and individualized educational plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all state licensure and school district requirements

Qualifications:

  • Active state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Preferred certification: SLP with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Candidates currently working toward CCC certification (Clinical Fellows) must have supervision arranged prior to starting, as the district does not provide supervision
  • Previous experience with elementary-aged students and caseload management in school settings is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Location and Schedule:

  • Position is onsite only, located within the Plano, TX area at specified elementary schools
  • Full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract duration spans the current school year with two separate maternity leave coverage periods (immediate start through January and January through early April)
