A virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to provide support to elementary students in grades K-5. This part-time contract role begins on January 7th and continues through the end of the school year. The position involves delivering speech therapy services, primarily in a remote learning setting, while also supervising a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).

Located in Portland, ME, this role is designed for a skilled SLP holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) who is experienced in working with young children in an educational environment. The SLP will manage a caseload of elementary students, assessing and treating speech, language, and communication disorders to enhance students’ academic performance and social participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver virtual speech therapy to K-5 students, utilizing evidence-based techniques tailored to individual needs
  • Oversee and guide the work of an SLPA to ensure quality and consistency in therapy services
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintain detailed documentation and progress notes
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapeutic approaches accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure in speech-language pathology applicable for school settings
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a school-based environment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual setting
