Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Laurel, MD
Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to a meaningful role serving students across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools near Laurel, MD. This contract opportunity supports learners in developing vital communication skills, working with a collaborative and resourceful educational team. Assignments span several campuses, and full-time schedules may be created by combining sites for a rewarding and consistent work week.
Your workdays will run from August 10th, 2026, through June 9th, 2027, following a standard school schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You’ll be integral in delivering speech and language services, conducting assessments, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating closely with families, teachers, and support staff to nurture each student’s success.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Speech-Language Pathology license (MD SLP License)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status
- School-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
- Passion for supporting students with diverse needs in an educational environment
- Must be available for onsite-only placements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to K–12 students across assigned campuses
- Complete evaluations, screenings, and re-evaluations in compliance with timelines
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families for holistic support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports
- Participate in student support and IEP meetings as required
