This role spans multiple school sites, each within a close radius. You’ll devote full days at one location before rotating to the next, serving a manageable caseload of roughly 10 students per site. The student population consists mainly of general education students with speech needs, some mild-to-moderate cognitive or spectrum diagnoses, and no severe cases.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Michigan licensure (or eligibility) required for school-based SLPs
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Adept with IEPs and progress reporting
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and document speech-language needs for elementary through high school students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and speech therapy services
- Collaborate daily with special education and general education teachers to foster inclusive support
- Maintain compliance with IDEA and other regulations in all documentation and service delivery
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Stay organized while serving one school per day to ensure continuity of care and rapport with students
