About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year in the Neptune, New Jersey area. This rewarding opportunity is perfect for an SLP who is passionate about early communication development and working with young learners. You will provide essential speech and language services to our Kindergarten students, playing a vital role in their foundational academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations for Kindergarten students.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and evidence-based therapy plans specifically tailored to the unique developmental needs of kindergarteners.
- Providing direct and indirect therapy services to students in individual, small group, and potentially classroom-based settings.
- Collaborating effectively with kindergarten teachers, parents, school administrators, and other multidisciplinary team members to integrate communication goals into the early learning environment.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of evaluations, progress notes, IEPs, and all other required reports.
- Participating actively in IEP meetings, contributing valuable clinical insights and recommendations for young students.
- Adapting therapy activities and strategies to suit the developmental stages and learning styles of Kindergarten students.
- Staying current with best practices, research, and advancements in early childhood and school-based speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of New Jersey is REQUIRED.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFs) will be considered.
- Prior experience working with kindergarten or other early childhood student populations in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the IEP process, special education law, and school-based service delivery models for young children.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a part-time caseload effectively.
- A genuine commitment to fostering early communication skills and empowering young students to reach their full potential.
