Pediatric School Speech and Language Pathologist | Lakeville, Minnesota
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in the Minneapolis area at an elementary school serving grades K–5. This contract role will cover a staff member on medical leave and is expected to last approximately three months or potentially longer, depending on recovery timelines.
The school supports a diverse student population with a caseload of about 63 students, including those in general education and self-contained classrooms. Student needs vary from mild to moderate speech and language support to more intensive services for individuals who are non-verbal or use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Supervision for Clinical Fellows (CF) or SLPAs is provided on site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering speech-language therapy to students with a wide range of communication needs
- Collaborating with educators and support staff to create and implement individualized treatment plans
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions as necessary
- Participating in meetings and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with school policies
- Providing support across various communication goals, including augmentative communication
Qualifications/Desired Skills:
- Certified or in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for SLPs; qualified and licensed SLPA credentials accepted
- Experience working in school or healthcare settings serving pediatric populations
- Ability to support students with mild-to-moderate needs as well as more complex communication challenges
- Familiarity with AAC devices and strategies preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
