Speech Therapist in Albany, NY
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to support K-12 students, primarily elementary with some high school learners, for the 2025-2026 school year in Albany, NY. This contract role runs from September through June and focuses on delivering speech and language services within a school setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to develop individualized therapy plans
- Providing direct speech and language therapy tailored to student needs
- Collaborating closely with teachers and school staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitoring student progress and adapting interventions as necessary
- Participating actively in IEP meetings to help establish student goals
- Offering guidance and resources to parents and caregivers
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of IEP processes and educational laws
