This full-time role focuses on supporting a specialized program with a caseload of approximately 35 students, primarily working with young children diagnosed with autism. Experience with AAC devices is highly valued, enhancing communication support for the student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy to young children within an early childhood center setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate communication goals.
- Utilize AAC devices effectively to support student communication.
- Monitor and document student progress according to program standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially those diagnosed with autism.
- Familiarity with AAC devices and related communication technologies.
- Ability to engage and motivate young children in therapy sessions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Location and Schedule:
- Position is located onsite in Kansas City, MO.
- Full-time assignment lasting from ASAP until the end of the school year (May 28th).
- Work directly with early childhood students in a specialized educational environment.
