An exciting opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Kansas City, MO, specializing in school-based therapy. This full-time, onsite position supports an early childhood center serving approximately 35 students in a specialized program focused on autism. Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices is highly beneficial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to early childhood students with autism.
- Collaborate with educators and related service providers to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Utilize AAC devices to support communication needs as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and school policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Missouri SLP licensure or eligibility, including Clinical Fellowship candidates.
- Strong background in working with young children, particularly in early childhood settings.
- Experience or familiarity with AAC devices is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work onsite full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Location and Schedule:
- Position is located in Kansas City, Missouri.
- Full-time hours, onsite within the early childhood center.
- Start date ASAP through the end of the school year (May 28th).
