A therapeutic center in the Chicago, IL area is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) for a contract position covering an FMLA leave through the remainder of the school year. The role involves supporting special education students within a structured setting focused on comprehensive diagnostics and early childhood services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnostic speech-language evaluations and conduct related assessments.
- Manage a small caseload of approximately 9-10 early childhood (EC) students requiring speech therapy, primarily seen in the afternoon.
- Deliver in-person therapy services twice weekly to EC students in the afternoon, with no option for virtual service delivery.
- Allocate designated time for thorough report writing and documentation of evaluations and therapy sessions.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with educational staff to support student progress.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with active state licensure.
- Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with CCC credentials.
- Experience working in school or therapeutic center settings, particularly with diagnostic evaluations and early childhood caseloads.
- Strong organizational skills for managing caseloads, reporting, and scheduling.
- Ability to work on-site in a hands-on therapeutic environment.
