Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist in Aurora, IL

A school-based position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support a 2nd-grade student in a one-on-one setting. This role involves delivering specialized speech therapy services within an Early Childhood to Elementary School environment, located in Crestwood, IL. The position is per diem with a school year duration and an ASAP start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 100 minutes of speech therapy weekly, split evenly between 45 minutes of direct therapy and 45 minutes of indirect services, with flexibility to request additional time.
- Utilize an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device to support a high-functioning student who exhibits elopement behaviors.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the student's needs.
- Collaborate with classroom staff and caregivers to promote communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Illinois licensure as an SLP or SLPA.
- If applying as an SLPA, possession of your own clinical supervision is required.
- Experience working with school-aged children, particularly within the early childhood and elementary settings.
- Ability to manage AAC devices and understand strategies for supporting students with elopement tendencies.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
