Speech Language Pathologist in Joliet, IL
A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a full-time contract position serving early childhood students in a K-12 school setting, located in Joliet, IL. This role is focused on providing speech and language support to young learners within the critical developmental age range of 2.5 to 5 years. The assignment runs from April 7th, 2026 through May 22nd, 2026, offering a unique opportunity to impact early learners in a structured educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver early language and articulation therapy tailored to individual student needs
- Conduct thorough evaluations of speech and language skills for children aged 2.5 to 5 years
- Write and disseminate comprehensive evaluation reports to relevant educational staff members
- Provide support for Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives within the school setting
- Manage a caseload initially of 20 students, with an anticipated increase to 25-30 students
- Maintain full-time equivalent status, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid CCC certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working with early childhood populations in educational settings
- Strong assessment and report-writing skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators and support staff to implement effective interventions
- Commitment to on-site, in-person service delivery
