School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Joliet, Illinois
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support specialized educational programs across multiple school locations within the Joliet, IL area. This contract position runs through the current school year and focuses on serving students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities within Structured Learning Environment (SLE) programs.
Work Locations:
- Two classrooms at a high school in Villa Park, IL
- One classroom at a high school in Addison, IL
- One classroom at an intermediate school in Westmont, IL
- Two classrooms at an elementary school in Downers Grove, IL
Position Details:
- Full-time hours, ranging from 35 to 37.5 hours per week
- Caseload includes 3 to 4 self-contained classrooms, each supporting 6-8 students
- Program serves K-12 students with specialized needs in a structured learning environment
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech Endorsement
- Active Illinois Speech License required
- Consideration given to SLP Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and provide individualized therapy tailored to students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff within each classroom setting to implement effective communication interventions
- Monitor progress and maintain detailed documentation to support student development and program goals
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program planning and evaluation
