A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available to support students from PreK through 5th grade in an elementary school setting located in Chicago Heights, IL. This full-semester contract position runs from August 18, 2025, to June 2, 2026, and requires in-person attendance.

Responsibilities include providing specialized speech and language therapy services to students with multiple disabilities, including nonverbal learners and those utilizing AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices. Caseloads typically range from 70 to 100 students, with therapy delivered approximately 120 to 240 minutes each month. Collaborative work with educators and staff to tailor communication goals and interventions is expected in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
  • Experience working with students from PreK to 5th grade with multiple disabilities
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and nonverbal communication support strategies
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Work Schedule:

  • 35 hours per week
  • In-person work only
