A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students during maternity leave contracts in Newark, NJ. This role serves self-contained students with multiple disabilities across grades 3-8 within a grades 5/6 building, providing a dynamic and supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language therapy to students with diverse communication needs, including those with multiple disabilities.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement effective intervention plans.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy goals as necessary.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate regularly with families and caregivers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, guidelines, and timelines for speech therapy services.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) certification.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in school or healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of speech-language pathology techniques suitable for students with multiple disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an educational team.
Position Details:
- Contract role covering maternity leave from April 27 to June 24 and again from September 3 to November 20.
- School day hours from 8:30 AM to 2:55 PM.
- Location situated in Newark, New Jersey.
- Service provided within a supportive school environment catering to diverse student needs.
