Speech Language Pathologist in Carnegie, PA
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) seeking a contract assignment working with school-aged students in Carnegie, PA. The position covers maternity leave coverage at a high school setting during the current school year (CSY) and offers flexible scheduling in two distinct roles supporting students with varied needs.
Position Details:
Opportunity #1:
- Provide Speech-Language services to 7th-12th grade students within one program
- Serve 19 related service minutes per week
- Schedule: Two days per week, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Duration: Approximately January 5 through April 15
Opportunity #2:
- Provide speech therapy instruction in the home for a 4th grade female student diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome
- Deliver two 30-minute sessions weekly
- Preferred session times on Thursday and Friday from 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM or 3:45 PM - 4:15 PM
- Location: Student’s home in Carnegie, PA
- Virtual sessions may be offered if in-home visits are unavailable, as agreed by family and district
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification and licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist with experience in school-based settings
- Ability to work effectively with students ranging from elementary through high school
- Familiarity with related service delivery in public school contexts
- Experience supporting children with complex medical diagnoses such as Dravet Syndrome is a plus
- Flexibility to accommodate in-person and virtual service delivery
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with families and school teams
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and therapeutic interventions tailored to individual student goals
- Document progress and maintain compliance with school district policies
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other service providers to support student success
- Adapt service delivery methods to meet student and family needs, including virtual options when necessary
