Speech-Language Pathologist in Irvine, CA
Provide specialized speech-language support focusing on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices for elementary students with moderate to profound needs. This contract role involves working directly with a multidisciplinary team within a well-established program designed to enhance communication skills for diverse learners.
Location: Irvine, CA (Elementary School Setting)
Contract Duration: Current School Year (ASAP through June 5, 2026)
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, on-site
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to elementary school students utilizing AAC devices.
- Program, customize, and maintain various AAC devices to support student communication.
- Collaborate closely with a team of 3 SLPs and 2 Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) within the CONNECTIONS program.
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and track student progress.
- Support students with moderate to profound communication needs, adapting interventions accordingly.
- Maintain compliance with educational and clinical standards, and documentation requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license and California education credentials.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in programming and using a wide range of AAC devices.
- Experience working in school-based settings, specifically with diverse elementary-aged populations.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills within multidisciplinary educational environments.
