Required Qualifications (Alabama):
To be considered, candidates must meet all state and district requirements, including:

Current Alabama Speech-Language Pathology License issued by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA)

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
-
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
-
Alabama State Department of Education certification may be required by the district
-
Current CPR certification
-
Fingerprint background check clearance
-
Prior school-based experience preferred but not required
Primary Responsibilities:

Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
-
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
-
Provide direct therapy and consultative services to students
-
Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student progress
-
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
-
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and service planning
-
Support functional communication skills in academic and social environments
