Seeking experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP-CCC) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) with active Texas licensure for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- A current, active Texas SLP or SLPA license (required upon application; SLPAs must have licensure in hand)
- Demonstrated, recent school-based experience as an SLP or SLPA
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Reliable transportation for on-site work; no remote options
- Commitment to completing HISD fingerprinting within the initial three days of contract signing
- Ability to purchase a laptop (cost reimbursed)
- Flexibility regarding specific campus assignments, as these will be finalized before the school year begins
Key responsibilities:
- Direct assessment and intervention with students for speech and language needs within school settings
- Consult and collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student success
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and document progress in compliance with state and district requirements
- Provide therapy aligned with students’ IEP goals, monitor their progress, and adjust interventions as needed
