Intermediate School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Job - Houston, TX
Blazer Jobs is now interviewing experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for a full-time, school-based contract opportunity at an intermediate school (grades 5–6) in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative special education team and make a meaningful impact during a pivotal stage of student development.
Position Requirements
All applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

Hold valid SLP licensure in the state of Texas
-
Meet all local and state regulations for school-based speech therapy
-
Prior experience with special education students and families is highly preferred
-
Open to SLPs with CCCs or Clinical Fellows (CFs), depending on district preferences
Key Responsibilities May Include:
-
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and document results
-
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and goals specific to each student’s communication needs
-
Provide direct and indirect therapy services for students with speech, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic language disorders
-
Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and school staff to integrate communication goals into the classroom setting
-
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and strategies for home support
-
Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and ongoing service planning
-
Maintain accurate records of service minutes, progress notes, and assessment documentation
-
Support the implementation of assistive communication tools or AAC devices as needed
