A contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is urgently needed for on-site support in a high school setting in Cortland, NY. This opportunity requires immediate availability to work with a small caseload of students presenting complex communication needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized speech and language therapy to two high school students, with potential to serve additional middle school students at a nearby school
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborating with 1:1 paraprofessionals supporting each student
- Monitoring progress and adjusting therapy strategies as appropriate
Candidate qualifications:
- Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid New York State teaching certification required
- Experience working with students with severe communication impairments, including AAC users, non-speaking individuals with cerebral palsy, and non-verbal autism
- Prior school-based experience with similarly complex caseloads is essential
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
This contract position covers the current school year (CSY) and is based on-site in a high school environment, with a caseload of two high school students who have intensive communication support needs.
